The celebrations underscored the University’s strong commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and holistic learning in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The programme included a Photography Exhibition, an Interdepartmental Photography Competition, and a Workshop on Photography and Cinematography conducted by Canon India. The exhibition showcased the imaginative works of M.A. Journalism & Mass Communication (3rd Semester) students, providing a vibrant platform to express their artistic vision. The Interdepartmental Competition drew enthusiastic participation from undergraduate and postgraduate students across disciplines, with winners receiving attractive cash prizes that encouraged artistic excellence and peer learning.

The Workshop on Photography and Cinematography offered hands-on training in camera handling, composition, and visual storytelling. The session was inaugurated with an insightful address by Prof. Bhaw Nath Pandey, Dean, School of Information and Communication Studies, who highlighted the importance of visual literacy in contemporary education and encouraged students to combine creativity with technology for impactful communication.

In his valedictory address, Prof. Tiwari commended the students’ creative efforts and urged them to pursue photography and videography as powerful mediums for storytelling, cultural preservation, and social transformation. He emphasized that initiatives like World Photography Week align with the objectives of NEP 2020, which advocate skill development, experiential learning, and critical thinking. Prof. Tiwari lauded the Department of Mass Communication and Media Studies for building a vibrant creative ecosystem that not only enriches student learning but also enhances the University’s global standing.

Following the Vice-Chancellor’s remarks, Dr. Rubal Kanozia, Head of the Department, expressed gratitude to the University leadership for their constant encouragement. She remarked that World Photography Week is not merely a celebration of art but also a significant exercise in experiential learning that helps students refine their skills, embrace innovation, and grow into responsible media professionals. Dr. Kanozia reaffirmed the Department’s dedication to advancing the vision of NEP 2020 by promoting creativity, critical engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Programme Coordinator Dr. Aleem Khan, Assistant Professor, thanked research scholars and students for their active participation, which ensured the grand success of the celebrations. On this occasion, Dr. Kinshuk Pathak (Associate Professor), Dr. Chhavi Garg (Assistant Professor), Dr. Mahesh Meena (Assistant Professor), and Dr. Vishnu Menon (Assistant Professor) were also present.
