BATALA: Bhagwant Singh Maan, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Punjab has provided the people of the state with the facility of zero bill up to 600 units per billing cycle in household electricity usage, a major economic relief for 3, 81, 842 families of the district.

Eng. Arvinderjit Singh Boparai, Deputy Chief Engineer Gurdaspur said that 90.40 percent of domestic electricity consumers have benefited from this facility in February and March. He said that 3, 81, 842 families have benefited from the facility of zero electricity bill provided by the Punjab government to all consumers up to 600 units of household electricity usage. He said that there are 4, 30, 698 domestic supply consumers in the district.

He said that there are 62 thousand 779 consumers in Qadian sub division, 81 thousand 214 consumers of Batala sub division, 33 thousand 879 consumers of Pathankot sub division, 94 thousand 53 consumers of Gurdaspur sub division, 59 thousand 594 consumers of City Batala and 50 thousand 323 consumers of Dhariwal, the bills of have come to zero.

On this occasion, MLA of Batala, Amansher Singh Sherri Kalsi, expressed the great economic relief and happiness that people got due to domestic electricity bills and said that the Punjab government will not impose any kind of load on the consumers regarding giving 300 units per month (600 units every two months). He said that the purpose of this zero bill facility is to give the benefit of the facility to the domestic consumers of the state without category and condition, and also to create a sense of electricity saving among them.

MLA Sherry Kalsi thanked the Chief Minister, Sh Bhagwant Singh Maan, for providing the facility to people of zero bill up to the usage of 600 units per billing cycle to the people in this time of inflation and said that this has given the people a great financial relief from the electricity expenses and the people are very happy with this decision of the government.
