House expresses sorrow on sad demise of former PM Manmohan Singh and former CM Chautala
Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, March 7 –
On the first day of the Budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha which commenced here today, obituary resolutions were passed to pay rich tributes to those prominent personalities who expired between the period from the end of the previous session and the beginning of this session.
CM Nayab Singh Saini, who is also the Leader of the House, paid tributes and read out the obituary resolutions. These include Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of India, Om Parkash Chautala, former CM, former ministers Satpal Sangwan, Dr. Kirpa Ram Punia and Surinder Singh Aujla, Chaudhary Karam Singh, Hem Raj, all former Members of Haryana Legislative Assembly, and Sardar Baaj Singh, Freedom Fighter.
Speaker, Harvinder Kalyan also read the obituary resolutions and paid tributes to the departed souls. Bhupinder Singh Hooda also read the obituary resolutions on behalf of his party.
The House also gave a tearful farewell to 21 brave soldiers of Haryana who showed indomitable courage and
made the supreme sacrifice while safeguarding the unity and integrity of the motherland.
