PHDCCI Organizes 1st Edition of ARCHSPIRE 2025 Student Architecture Design Competition in Chandigarh

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) successfully organized the Valedictory Session of 11th Edition of INS OUTS and 1st Edition of ARCHSPIRE 2025 (in collaboration with Chandigarh University) – Student Architecture Design Competition in Chandigarh.
The Chief Guest, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Hon’ble Member of Parliament- Rajya Sabha, addressed the gathering and lauded PHDCCI’s efforts in promoting entrepreneurship, fostering industry growth, and enhancing Chandigarh’s global image as an architectural hub.
Highlighting Punjab’s pivotal role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), Sandhu said, “This country will become self-reliant only when Punjab is fully developed. Punjab has the potential to lead the nation.” He urged entrepreneurs to promote indigenous products and called upon established industrialists to support startups, which would boost local manufacturing and create employment opportunities.
Madhusudan Vij, Chair, Chandigarh Chapter, PHDCCI informed that over three days, multiple seminars were held on emerging technologies, sustainable construction practices, and green energy.
Dr. Ranjit Mehta, CEO and Secretary General, PHDCCI, welcomed the guests and highlighted that PHDCCI, a 120-year-old institution with branches in 30 states, has been serving as a bridge between the government and industry.
Bharti Sood, Senior Regional Director, PHDCCI talked about the aim behind organising the 1st Edition of Archspire, an initiative designed to nurture the imagination, creativity, and design-thinking capabilities of young architecture students. She also said that encouraging sustainable and futuristic ideas, the competition not only promotes professional excellence but also reflects the importance of shaping the minds and creativity of our youth.
On the occasion, Sandhu, Member of Parliament- Rajya Sabha, felicitated winners of the competition First Prize: Chitkara University team, Second Prize: Chandigarh University team, Third Prize: Indo Global College of Architecture; Special Mentions- Gyani Zail Singh School of Architecture & Planning, Bathinda and CT Institute of Architecture and Planning, Ludhiana.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Sh. Suvrat Khanna, Co-Chair, Chandigarh Chapter, PHDCCI wherein he thanked all the participants as well as event partners without whom the event wouldn’t have been such a wonderful success.
Over 100 participants from various industrial sectors and over 50 students took part in the session.
