District Presidents to be Chosen Through Feedback from Every Worker: AICC Secretary

AICC Secretary and National Observer for Punjab Manoj Yadav, today addressed the media in Mohali and announced that the year 2025 will be fully dedicated to strengthening the Congress organisation under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, as directed by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. He was accompanied by State Observers for Mohali, MP Dr. Amar Singh and Ravinderpal Singh Pali.
Manoj Yadav said that similar organisational exercises have already begun in Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttarakhand and Punjab, while states like Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Gujarat have successfully completed the process. He emphasised that the most crucial link in this structure is the District President, who remains in daily touch with the people. “Our focus is to make the District President more accountable, better trained, and empowered to directly communicate the feedback of his district to the high command,” he stated.
He further informed that the selection of District Presidents will be completed by September 14. Over the next 12-14 days, Congress observers will meet leaders, workers, and social representatives across the district to gather feedback. The same process will later be extended to formalise District and Block Committees, ensuring deeper decentralisation of leadership.
Highlighting the importance of participatory leadership, Yadav said, “This is not an election process but a feedback-driven selection where every aspirant will get a chance to meet us one-on-one. Those interested can submit their forms till Tuesday.” He added that the final report will be submitted by September 16, after which the new District President will be announced.
On the larger vision, Yadav underlined that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra have rejuvenated the Congress across the country. “Rahul Ji forced the Modi Government to announce the caste census, and today he is receiving immense love from the people of Bihar. Our mission is to take this energy to every block and every district of Punjab.”
Yadav reiterated that the aim of the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan is to empower district leadership, ensure accountability, and strengthen the Congress at the grassroots level through direct contact with the people.
