Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh-
Parminder Singh Gill, a resident of Sector 51, Chandigarh, has filed a complaint of fraud against his friend Amit Kapoor, a resident of Sector 20. In his complaint, Parminder stated that his friend Amit runs a cable business. Parminder alleged that on December 28, 2020, Amit approached him about becoming a partner to expand his cable business.

He said Amit lured him into helping him financially, promising to take care of all the work and pay him 70,000 rupees per month.Parminder alleges that Amit took 4.4 million rupees from him. Amit gave him Rs 70,000 for about five to six months but after that he refused to give the money saying that the business was incurring losses.

Parminder said that later with great difficulty Amit gave him a cheque of Rs 30 lakh but before he could deposit it in his bank, Amit got the bank account closed. Parminder then filed a complaint at the SSP window in 2024, following which, upon investigation, the Sector 19 police station registered a case against the accused Amit under Section 420 of the IPC.
