Complaints Regarding Paddy Crop, govt Issues Instructions to Appoint HCS-Level Officer in Every Mandi

DCs to Visit Mandis from Tomorrow to Get Ground Reports

The Haryana Govt has taken serious note of complaints regarding the procurement of paddy crop in various mandis. The state government has issued immediate directions to ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience and that the procurement process runs smoothly.

The Haryana Chief Secretary has directed all Deputy Commissioners to appoint an HCS-level officer in every mandi to monitor activities there. In addition, Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to personally visit the mandis starting September 27, 2025, to gather ground reports and review the situation. They have also been asked to take all necessary steps to ensure the smooth operation of gate pass, portal, and lifting-related processes.

The Chief Secretary has directed the Chief Administrator of the Marketing Board, the Director of Food and Civil Supplies, the Managing Directors of HAFED and CONFED, and the Managing Director of Warehousing  Corporation to play an active role. These senior officers have been instructed to review the preparations and management of their respective departments and to visit at least two mandis each. During their visits, they will inspect arrangements and take immediate action to rectify any shortcomings.

The Haryana Government has made it clear that the interests of farmers are a top priority. Any negligence or irregularity in the paddy procurement process will not be tolerated. The government’s objective is to ensure that every farmer receives the proper price for their produce on time and that all procedures in the mandis remain transparent and efficient. All concerned departments have been asked to work in coordination and fulfill their responsibilities. The Chief Secretary has also directed all officers to submit regular progress reports.

Additionally, all necessary resources will be made available in the mandis for the convenience of farmers. The government has appealed to farmers to contact local mandi officials or the office of the Deputy Commissioner in case of any issue.
