Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) has introduced a strict rule aimed at ensuring passenger safety, prohibiting its employees from making reels or posting personal content on social media while on duty.
The directive applies to drivers, conductors, inspectors and other route and field staff of the CTU and Chandigarh City Bus Service Society (CCBSS). Employees will not be allowed to create or upload videos or other internet-media content for personal purposes while they are deployed on duty.
The office of the Divisional Manager, CTU, and the Director of Transport has issued orders in this regard. Making reels or videos while driving a bus or while deployed inside a bus has been specifically prohibited.
The restriction also applies to employees wearing uniform. They have been barred from creating personal content in uniform if it has no connection with their official duties.
The order further states that CTU and CCBSS buses, bus stands, depots, offices, workshops and passenger facilities cannot be used for creating personal or commercial content without prior permission.
Officials have warned that violations of the directive will be taken seriously and may lead to disciplinary action against the employees concerned.
