Three new categories added under the scheme

Women with annual family income of Rs. One Lakh to continue receiving benefits

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh –

The Haryana Government has taken another decisive step towards women empowerment by expanding the scope of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana. With this expansion, more than one lakh new women across the state will receive direct benefits under the scheme, providing strong financial support to women from economically weaker sections and helping them become self-reliant.

Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that according to the scheme's criteria, women with an annual family income of up to Rs. 1 lakh will continue to receive benefits as earlier. The benefits of any eligible woman have neither been stopped nor discontinued. Financial assistance of Rs. 2,100 per month will continue to be provided as before.

The spokesperson clarified that in order to promote social development, the state government has expanded the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana by adding three new categories. For these categories, the annual family income must be less than Rs. 1.80 lakh, and the benefit will be available for up to 3 children only.

First Category – Families with an annual income of less than Rs. 1.80 lakh whose children are studying in government schools and secure more than 80 percent marks in Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. Mothers of such children will now also receive Rs. 2,100 per month under the scheme.

Second Category – Families with an annual income of less than Rs. 1.80 lakh whose children achieve grade-level proficiency from Class 1 to Class 4 under the Government of India’s NIPUN Mission. Mothers of such children will also be eligible for benefits under the scheme.

Third Category– If a child who was earlier identified as malnourished or anaemic under the Poshan Tracker becomes healthy and moves to the Green Zone due to the dedicated efforts of the mother, such mothers will also be provided assistance of Rs. 2,100 per month. For this category as well, the annual family income must be less than Rs. 1.80 lakh.

New initiative to strengthen families financially keeping future needs in mind

The Haryana government has launched a new visionary initiative to further strengthen women's empowerment. This initiative aimed at providing not only immediate financial assistance but also long-term financial security to women and their families.

Under this initiative, out of the Rs.2,100 amount currently being credited to women’s accounts under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, Rs.1,100 will be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account, while the remaining Rs.1,000 will be deposited by the state government in the form of a recurring deposit/fixed deposit. This deposit amount, along with interest, will be given to the beneficiary woman. Besides this, in the unfortunate event of the beneficiary’s untimely death, the deposited amount will be immediately provided to the nominee, as per the provision.
