Health Department has stepped up surveillance across Faridabad after confirming three dengue cases and two malaria cases in the district. Officials said all patients are in stable condition and have received the necessary treatment.

With the monsoon season increasing the risk of mosquito-borne diseases, the department has launched a special anti-larval campaign across the district. Health teams are conducting door-to-door inspections of coolers, water tanks, flower pots, scrap material, and other places where stagnant water can collect, aiming to destroy mosquito larvae before they spread disease.

According to health officials, dengue is transmitted by the Aedes mosquito, while malaria spreads through the Anopheles mosquito. During the ongoing drive, larvae were found at several locations, prompting the department to issue notices to 10 residents for failing to prevent mosquito breeding.

Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Ram Bhagat said all affected patients are recovering well. He urged residents to replace cooler water every week, prevent rainwater from accumulating on rooftops and around homes, keep water storage tanks covered, and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from mosquito bites.

Health authorities also warned that strict action may be taken against those who fail to maintain cleanliness and allow mosquito breeding in their premises.
