As part of the series of events organized by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji, an evening divan was held today at the main pandal of Baba Budha Dal Cantonment in Sri Anandpur Sahib. The spiritual gathering, arranged with deep reverence, attracted a large number of devotees who offered heartfelt homage to the sacrifices of the revered Guru and his companions.
In the august presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Katha and Kirtan Darbar brought together prominent ragi and katha-vachak jathas, who inspired the congregation through Gurbani renditions and spiritual discourse. Among the notable participants were Giani Harjit Singh Harman Shahabad (Markanda), Bhai Gursevak Singh Rangila (Chandigarh), Bhai Mehtab Singh (Jalandhar), Baba Harjit Singh (Mehta Chowk), Bhai Gagandeep Singh (Srinagar), Bhai Davinder Singh Sodhi (Ludhiana), Bhai Balwinder Singh Rangila (Chandigarh), Bhai Ravinder Singh (Hazoori Ragi, Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar), and Padma Shri Bhai Sahib Bhai Harjinder Singh (Srinagar). Through their soulful kirtan and enlightening katha, they connected the sangat to the spiritual essence of the Guru’s teachings and the legacy of sacrifice.
During the divan, the ragi jathas narrated historically significant episodes from the lives of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and his fellow martyrs, highlighting their unwavering courage, devotion, and ultimate sacrifice for the protection of humanity and religious freedom. The entire pandal resonated with the divine melodies of Gurbani, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere. The congregation offered heartfelt respect and reflected upon the Guru’s message of compassion, resilience, and righteousness.
Stage coordination was carried out by Giani Bhagwan Singh Johal and Bhai Pritam Singh, who guided the proceedings and emphasized the timeless relevance of the Guru’s teachings and martyrdom in Sikh history.
The sangat was also informed that the commemorative series of events organized by the Punjab Government will continue in the coming days. As part of this ongoing schedule, tomorrow, November 24, the same pandal will host special programs dedicated to the life and teachings of the Guru. These will include poetic recitations, dhadi vaar performances, kavishri darbar, and another katha-kirtan darbar, with renowned artists and jathas set to present spiritually enriching sessions.
Overall, today’s gathering at the Baba Budha Dal Cantonment served not only as a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of Sikh history but also as an important spiritual and cultural event that brought the sangat together in remembrance and devotion.
