Haryana Government has announced a major relief for its government employees and pensioners by significantly increasing the income limit for dependents eligible under the state's medical reimbursement scheme.

Under the revised policy, the monthly income ceiling for dependents has been raised from ₹3,500 to ₹9,000, allowing a much larger number of family members to qualify for medical reimbursement benefits.

Health and Family Welfare Department issued the revised orders on Monday. According to a notification released by the department's Additional Chief Secretary, the decision updates the income limit that had remained unchanged since 2007.

The government said the revision was necessary in view of rising inflation and the increased cost of living over the years. Under the new norms, dependents of serving government employees and pensioners earning up to ₹9,000 per month will now be considered eligible for medical reimbursement. Previously, the ₹3,500 limit had excluded many families from availing the benefit.

Health Department clarified that the decision was taken with the concurrence of the Finance Department, which approved the proposal on June 26, 2026. Following the approval, the revised orders have now been formally notified.

Copies of the notification have been circulated to all Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, the Registrar of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Accountant General, and other concerned authorities for implementation.

The revised policy is expected to provide significant relief to government employees and pensioners whose dependents were previously ineligible for medical reimbursement due to the outdated income threshold, enabling more families to access government healthcare benefits.
