Haryana has saved more than 50,000 girls since the rollout of B3P Programme
State Headquarter to conduct monthly meeting with all the districts through video conference on regular basis

A State Level Stakeholders Meeting on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (B3P) was held in Conference Hall, 6th Floor, New Secretariat, Haryana, Sector 17, Chandigarh. Meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Health, Dr. G. Anupama.
The B3P was launched in Haryana on 22nd January 2015 by Hon’ble Prime Minister from Panipat, Haryana with the motto “We do not have the right to kill the girl child” and “Our mantra should be beta beti ek saman”.
ACS, Health, Dr. G. Anupama while addressing the meeting said, “At present the sex ratio at birth (SRB) is 916 and we have saved more than 52,000 girls since rollout of B3P programme in Haryana. Five districts SRB-2023 is below 900 i.e. Rohtak (883) Narnaul (887), Sonipat (894), Charkhi Dadari (897) & Rewari (897). To strengthen B3P programme in Haryana WCD, NHM & Education Department to work closely and do monitoring regular basis. Implementation of PC-PNDT (Pre Natal Diagnostic)/ MTP (Medical Termination of Pregnancy) Act. Regular Sensitization of Police/Prosecution/Health Officers on PC-PNDT/MTP Act. Curbing online & OTC (Over the Counter) sale of MTP kits. All approved MTP Centers need to be audited to check illegal MTP/Abuse of MTP kits. State Headquarter to conduct monthly meeting with all the districts through video conference on regular basis”.
Dr. G. Anupama further said, “District Task Force Meeting to be held every month on regular basis. District to strengthen the monitoring system down the line up to village level. Civil surgeons to conduct meetings with Indian Medical Associations (IMA) regarding timely registrations of births”.
Commissioner and Secretary WCD Department, Ms. Amneet P. Kumar, while addressing the meeting said “Capacity Building of fields Staff to be done on regular basis so that they can make general public aware about the PC PNDT/MTP act. Trainings/Orientation to be conducted at the State level and to be replicated in the districts in Cascade model regarding the PC PNDT/MTP act. In B3P campaign first we have to save the girl child and then educate her. Health Department to ensure early registration of every pregnancy. Focus group discussions to be held by ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) worker with the villages in small groups for making people aware about PC PNDT/MTP act and its implications on our society. The compliance of PC PNDT/MTP act to be adhered in totality in the State of Haryana”.
Meeting was attended by Commissioner & Secretary, Women and Child Development Department (WCD), Amneet P. Kumar, Haryana, Director General Health Services, Haryana Dr. R.S. Poonia, Advisor B3P, Dr. Usha Gupta, Director (MCH), National Health Mission (NHM), Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Director, WCD, Monica Malik, besides other senior officers were present during the meeting.
