A high alert has been issued for residents living in Ramgarh and nearby areas of Panchkula ahead of a high-caliber bomb test scheduled at the TBRL Ramgarh Range on May 31. The trial will be conducted by the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), which functions under India’s Defence Ministry.
According to information released by DRDO scientists, the explosive test will take place from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Sunday. Authorities warned that the blast could be extremely powerful, with bomb fragments potentially reaching up to 1.5 kilometers into the air.
Officials have also declared a splinter danger zone extending nearly two kilometers on the ground around the testing site. In view of the safety risk, local residents have been advised to remain indoors during the testing period.
TBRL Technology Director C. Sarkar, in a letter to the Panchkula Deputy Commissioner, instructed authorities to ensure that residents of Bhanu and Billa villages stay inside their homes during the operation.
People living in Asrewali, Naggal, Moginand, Kishangarh, TMV Colony, and areas under the Ramgarh Municipal Council have also been asked to remain alert and follow safety advisories issued by the administration.
