State govt announces 4 lakh ex gratia to families of each deceased

In Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, a landslide hit a passenger bus on Tuesday evening, killing 16 people so far. Children were also on board at the time of the accident.
Two children were rescued from the debris. Meanwhile, during a search operation conducted by the NDRF team at 6:40 am on Wednesday, the body of a child was recovered.
The victims of the tragedy include Sharif Khan, Rajneesh Kumar, Chunni Lal,Rajiv urf Sonu, Bakshi Ram, Narendra Sharma, Krishna Lal, Naksh, Praveen Kumar, Anjana Devi, Aarav, Kanta Devi, Vimla Devi, Kamlesh, Sanjeev Kumar and Rahul.The injured are identified as Arushi and Shaurya.
Bilaspur SP Sandeep Dhaval stated that among the deceased are 9 men, 4 women, and 2 boys. After the post-mortem, the bodies handed over to their families. Where their last rituals performed
Actually, heavy rains had been lashing Bilaspur and much of Himachal Pradesh since Tuesday morning. Around 6:25 PM near Barhti in Bhallu, a landslide occurred, and rocks and debris struck the bus. The roof of the bus was crushed, sending it into a gorge, and the bus was completely buried under the debris.
The bus was travelling from Marotan to Ghumarwin when the accident occurred. Local residents alerted the authorities immediately, and police and rescue teams reached the site promptly.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the incident on social media, saying, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the Bilaspur accident. My condolences are with the affected families during this difficult time.” He also announced that under the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) Each deceased victim’s family will receive 2 lakh and the injured will receive 50,000 each.
