International kayaking and canoeing player Deepak Kumar Singh has been appointed as the General Secretary of the Chandigarh Kayaking and Canoeing Association. His term will be from 2026 to 2030.
Previously, Mr. Singh served as the Association's Secretary from 2015 to 2019. During his tenure, the Senior National Kayaking and Canoeing Championships and Dragon Boat Competitions were successfully organised in Chandigarh, giving a boost to the sport.
Currently, Deepak Kumar Singh serves as Director of Sports at Chandigarh University. He is a NIS-trained coach, international player, and former coach of the Indian team.
He said that his aim is to develop young talent, strengthen training at the grassroots level and organise national and international level competitions in Chandigarh, so that this sport can be taken to new heights.
