Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, during his one-day visit to the Doon Assembly Constituency in Solan district on Tuesday, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of development projects worth a total of ₹383 crore. These projects aim to strengthen the region’s road network, healthcare facilities, education infrastructure, and other essential services.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Baddi–Sai–Ramshahr Road constructed at a cost of ₹86 crore, which will significantly improve connectivity between industrial hubs and rural areas. He also inaugurated tube well projects worth ₹15.78 crore in the Doon area, which will enhance drinking water and irrigation facilities.
Focusing on improving healthcare infrastructure, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Civil Hospital in Baddi, built at a cost of ₹10.64 crore, and the new building of the Community Health Centre, Barotiwala, constructed for ₹3.15 crore. These facilities are expected to provide better medical services to residents of the region.
Further strengthening the education sector, CM Sukhu inaugurated newly constructed government primary schools in Haripur Sandoli, Suraj Majra, Labana, and Chakkan under the Baddi education block. These schools will provide improved and accessible educational facilities to local children.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones of several major upcoming projects. Among them, the most prominent is the Quality and Reliable Power Supply Scheme in Baddi, to be built at a cost of ₹73.21 crore, which will ensure stable electricity supply for both industrial and residential areas. He also laid the foundation stones for the Baddi–Sheetalpur–Jagatkhana Road (₹63.73 crore), the ISBT Baddi (₹40 crore), and the Mini Secretariat Building in Baddi (₹37.67 crore).
Additionally, a new sewerage scheme worth ₹37.10 crore was initiated to provide sewerage facilities to uncovered areas of Baddi. CM Sukhu also laid the foundation stone of the Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding School in Kalyanpur, to be built at a cost of ₹5 crore, aimed at offering modern educational amenities to students.
Chief Minister Sukhu said that these development projects would play a crucial role in boosting the progress of the Doon region. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring better basic facilities for the people and stated that efforts are underway to promote balanced development across industrial as well as rural areas.
