Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar chairs the meeting

Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar said that the State government is committed to reorganizing administrative units in accordance with the demands of local people and elected representatives.
Panwar was presiding over the meeting of the Reorganization-committee held here today. The meeting was also attended by Education Minister, Mahipal Dhanda, and Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Shyam Singh Rana.
Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, Krishan Lal Panwar, said that the Reorganization Committee has so far received 73 proposals, including 11 for creation of new districts, 14 for sub-divisions, 4 for tehsils and 27 for sub-tehsils. In this regard, the committee has sent a recommendation to the state government for approval and inclusion of village Khunga from Sub-Division Uchana into Sub-Division Jind, and village Khanpur Roran of Tehsil Pehowa, District Kurukshetra, into Tehsil Thanesar.
Panwar said that the criteria for creating new districts, the requirements include 125 to 200 villages, a population of 4 lakhs and above, an area of 80,000 hectares and above, and a distance of 25 to 40 kilometers from other district headquarters. Separate criteria have also been set for the creation of subdivisions, tehsils, and sub-tehsils.
Panwar further said that the decisions taken in the meeting will be briefed to the CM Nayab Singh Saini, for approval. It was also informed that the proposals received for creation of new districts include Assandh, Naraingarh, Manesar, Pehowa, Barwala, Safidon, Pataudi, Dabwali, Hansi and Gohana.
Additional Chief Secretary and, Financial Commissioner, Revenue & Disaster Management department, Dr. Sumita Misra, Special Secretary, Kamlesh Kumar Bhadoo along with other officers also remained present during the meeting.
