In a tragic case from the village of Sohal Jagir, a court has sentenced Kulvinder Kaur to life imprisonment for the murder of her six-year-old son, Arshpreet Singh. The child was stabbed to death, and the court also imposed a fine of ₹50,000 on the accused. The incident occurred on June 8, 2020.
According to reports, the mother killed her son after he insisted on sleeping with his grandparents, which reportedly triggered a heated argument. Following the incident, the police registered a case and arrested Kulvinder Kaur.
Grandmother Had a Close Bond with the Child
The child’s grandfather, Avtar Singh, told authorities that his grandson Arshpreet shared a very close relationship with his grandmother, Charanjit Kaur. This closeness often caused tension between Kulvinder Kaur and other family members.
On the night of June 8, 2020, Arshpreet insisted on sleeping with his grandmother, leading to a dispute. Around 9:30 PM, Avtar Singh and his wife were in the lobby of the house when they heard screams. Upon rushing to the room, they found Arshpreet lying in a pool of blood on the bed, while Kulvinder Kaur was holding a kitchen knife.
The court proceedings concluded with the life sentence, reflecting the severity of the crime.
