Congress leaders and workers staged a protest near the Haryana Chief Minister's residence in Kurukshetra on Saturday over the alleged paper leak incidents involving NEET and CBSE examinations. The protesters gathered near the CM's residence and marched towards the official residence, where heavy police deployment and barricading had already been put in place.
Two Vajra anti-riot vehicles were stationed at the site to prevent protesters from advancing further. The demonstration was attended by Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda, Thanesar MLA Ashok Arora, Pehowa MLA Mandeep Chatha, Youth Congress National President Uday Bhanu Chib, State President Nishant Kataria, and several other senior Congress leaders.
As the protesters attempted to climb over police barricades demanding accountability in the alleged examination paper leak cases, police used water cannons to disperse the crowd. During the action, MP Deepender Hooda was seen sitting on the barricades along with his supporters.
The situation escalated further when some protesters allegedly tried to break through the barricades, prompting police to resort to a lathi charge to control the crowd. Following the confrontation, Deepender Hooda and other Congress workers approached the duty magistrate, expressing their willingness to court arrest as part of the protest.
