Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced a ₹75 crore development package for Nangal to boost infrastructure, education and tourism. The project includes North India’s first Glass Bridge at Shivalik Park, a ₹23 crore Centre of Excellence named after Kargil martyr Captain Amol Kalia, and upgrades in technical education institutes. Mann said the move will help create jobs and provide modern skill training in fields like robotics, electric vehicles, solar technology and drone training.
He added that the government is also focusing on improving water supply to strengthen agriculture, comparing it to the scale of the Bhakra Canal system. Mann said these steps mark a new phase of development and aim to end years of slow progress.
At the same time, the Chief Minister strongly criticised the Shiromani Akali Dal, accusing its leaders of promoting the drug trade during their rule. He said those responsible cannot be forgiven and claimed that people of Punjab now support honest governance. Targeting Sukhbir Singh Badal, he said the Akali leadership has lost public support and is making baseless statements.
Mann also referred to incidents in Kotakpura and Behbal Kalan, saying such events happened during the previous government and will not be forgotten. He criticised other parties as well, stating that the BJP failed to fulfil major promises, while the Congress remains divided.
Highlighting tourism, Mann said ₹10 crore will be spent on the Glass Bridge project to attract visitors and improve the beauty of the area. He said the government is focused on development, jobs and better opportunities for the people.
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “In Congress, every leader wants to become Chief Minister. They have more chief ministerial faces than workers. That is why their top leader publicly snubbed them in a recent rally. The Congress is a divided house that will collapse due to internal infighting, even as its leaders continue to daydream about returning to power.”
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said a new four-storey academic block with labs and classrooms will be built for ₹8 crore, along with a water treatment plant, to strengthen education infrastructure. He thanked people for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to building a “Rangla Punjab.”
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said the public response shows trust in the government’s work in education and health, adding that AAP aims to transform the system. Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains said the area has seen overall development and these new projects will further boost growth.
