Parminder Singh Jattpuri Elected President of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Press Gallery Committee

Deepak Sharma Chosen as Vice President and Naveen Sethi as General Secretary

The elections of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Press Gallery Committee were held peacefully on Wednesday in the presence of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretary Shri Ram Lok Khattana. Members of the Press Gallery Committee participated actively in the electoral process, which was conducted in a transparent and democratic manner.

According to the election results, Parminder Singh Jattpuri was elected as the President of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Press Gallery Committee. In the contest for the president’s post, Jattpuri secured 15 votes, while his rival, Napinder Barar, received 9 votes.

For the post of Vice President, Deepak Sharma received strong support from the members, securing 17 votes. His opponent, Rohit Bansal Pakka, obtained 7 votes.

Naveen Sethi was elected as the General Secretary of the committee. In the election for this post, Sethi received 16 votes, while his rival, Gurupdesh Bhullar, secured 7 votes. A total of 24 members exercised their right to vote in the election process.

A government spokesperson of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha stated that the elections were conducted strictly in accordance with established rules and in a cordial atmosphere. Following the announcement of the results, an atmosphere of enthusiasm was witnessed among the members of the Press Gallery Committee.

It is expected that the newly elected office bearers—President Parminder Singh Jattpuri, Vice President Deepak Sharma, and General Secretary Naveen Sethi—will play an active role in strengthening the functioning of the Press Gallery Committee and effectively raise issues related to journalists in the times to come.
