Punjab Newsline, Mumbai-
As India marked its 77th Republic Day with pride and patriotism, actress Seerat Kapoor took a moment to honour her deep-rooted military lineage and the values that have shaped her life. For Seerat, Republic Day is not just a national celebration but a deeply personal reminder of service, discipline and honour passed down through generations of her family.
Seerat Kapoor comes from a distinguished army background, with both her grandfathers and their siblings having served in the Indian Armed Forces. The family’s collective contribution spans both the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force, a legacy she describes as one built on duty, integrity and responsibility towards the nation.
On the occasion, Seerat shared rare and emotional pictures of her maternal grandfather, Late Brigadier Trishan Singh, remembering his remarkable journey of service. Brigadier Trishan Singh began his career as a pilot in the Army Air Observation Post (Air O.P) unit. Over the years, he went on to hold key positions, including heading Ordnance Factories and serving as a Small Arms Inspector during his tenure. Seerat’s paternal grandfather also served the nation as a Colonel in the Indian Army, further strengthening the family’s military heritage.
Reflecting on the values she inherited, Seerat shared, “I come from a family where service to the nation was not just a profession, it was a calling. My grandfather and his brothers served with a sense of duty that shaped our home. From them, I learned that leadership is responsibility, real bravery is quiet, and dignity is how you behave when no one is watching.”
The actress credits her grandparents for instilling discipline, humility, punctuality and a strong belief in serving something larger than oneself. She says these principles continue to guide her both personally and professionally, influencing the way she works, treats people and navigates challenges.
“These teachings influence how I work, how I treat people and how I navigate uncertainty. Their legacy reminds me that character is built in everyday choices,” Seerat added.
This Republic Day, Seerat Kapoor remembered her grandparents with gratitude and pride, honouring their service and sacrifice for the nation. She also extended her wishes to the country, wishing everyone a very Happy Republic Day, while paying tribute to the values that continue to inspire her journey.
