Punjab Newsline, Amritsar/Chandigarh-

Regarding the upcoming Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections, Aam Aadmi Party’s chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government has carried out historic development works in the last four years, and their clear positive impact is now visible in these local elections.

Addressing a press conference, Dhaliwal said that the ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign launched in March has brought unprecedented transformation in Punjab’s villages. The campaign has shown results in nearly 6,000 villages, of which more than 50% have already been declared drug-free. Around 1,000 villages have become completely free from drugs. He said this is a long battle, but the Mann government has succeeded in controlling drugs to a large extent.

He said that to curb drugs and guide youth in the right direction, the Mann government has initiated the construction of 3,100 grounds in villages across the state. In every constituency, 30 to 35 grounds are being built so that youngsters are encouraged to participate in sports.

Dhaliwal said that the AAP government is providing 300 units of free electricity every month. Now, 90% of Punjab households have zero electricity bills, saving people ₹5,6 thousand every month. This facility is being provided to everyone without any discrimination.

Emphasizing rural development, Dhaliwal said the Mann government’s construction of 44,000 km of link roads is rejuvenating the lifeline of villages. This has brought major improvements in rural transportation and daily life. Mohalla Clinics have also proved to be a boon for people, providing free treatment and medicines. On the issue of canal water, Dhaliwal said that the Mann government has delivered water to those corners of Punjab that had remained dry for 25 years, leading to an improvement in the groundwater level.

Dhaliwal said that the AAP is contesting the elections on the agenda of development, and on the 14th, people will vote on a large scale in favour of development and ensure a big victory for AAP.
