Parties without internal democracy cannot protect the country’s democracy
Replying to a question on the election of the BJP’s national president, he said that among all political parties in the country, the Bharatiya Janata Party is the only one that follows a proper democratic process for elections. He alleged that other parties are dynastic in nature, where leadership passes from father to son and then to grandson, and therefore lack democracy. Parties that do not have internal democracy cannot safeguard the nation’s democracy. He explained that in the BJP, elections are held at every level—ward, mandal, district, state—and only thereafter choose the national president. This system exists only in the BJP, not in other parties.
