CHANDIGARH: The Vice Chancellor of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, Professor Dinesh Kumar has advocated to define the role of women in the New Education Policy, and said that in order to improve the status of women in the society, we have to make the tradition of giving respect to women as a part of our education system.

Vice Chancellor was addressing the valedictory session of National Webinar on “Stop violence against Women” organized by NSS wing of the University in collaboration with Bhagidari Jan Sahyog Samiti and other partner organizations. The session was moderated by Secretary General of Bhagidari Jan Sahyog Samiti Vijay Gaur.
Referring the women centric policies of Haryana Government, Professor Dinesh Kumar said that the public welfare policies such as ‘Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao’ play an important role to bring reforms in the society and it has made a positive impact on the mindset of the people.

He said that in order to bring change in the society, it is equally important to change the mindset of the people about women, to give them equal share in the society, he added.

The webinar was also addressed by Joint Member Secretary of Haryana State Legal Services Authority, Dr. Sukhda Pritam, Member Secretary of Delhi State Legal Services Authority Mr. Kanwal Jeet Arora, Judge from Gauhati High Court Justice R. K. Phukan, Director General (Doordarshan) Sh. Mayank Aggarwal, Inspector General of Police from Nagaland Police Ms. Sonia Singh, Vice Chancellor of K.R. Mangalam University Prof. Aditya Malik, Vice Chancellor of Arunachal University Mr. O.P. Sharma.
