Two Indian Army personnel lost their lives after sustaining critical injuries in an accidental explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kamalkote, Uri, on Tuesday evening.

According to official sources, the incident occurred while the soldiers were deployed on duty in the sensitive border area. Following the explosion, both personnel were immediately evacuated to the 92 Base Hospital in Badamibagh, Srinagar, where doctors made every effort to save them.

However, they later succumbed to their injuries due to the severity of the blast.

The accidental explosion took place in the highly sensitive Kamalkote sector along the LoC, where the presence of landmines and unexploded ordnance continues to pose significant risks. The exact nature and cause of the explosion are yet to be determined, and an investigation is currently underway.

Army officials are examining all aspects of the incident to ascertain the circumstances that led to the tragic loss of the two soldiers. The incident highlights the constant dangers faced by security personnel deployed along the Line of Control.
