Indian women’s cricket team captain and several film celebrities hail Rani Mukerji’s powerful performance in the upcoming crime drama
Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has joined the growing list of admirers of Rani Mukerji after watching the gripping trailer of the upcoming film ‘Mardaani 3’. Deeply moved by the intense visuals and hard-hitting theme, Harmanpreet described the trailer as “insane” and stressed the urgent need for swift and exemplary punishment for crimes against women.
Taking to social media, Harmanpreet also expressed her appreciation for the country’s police force, acknowledging their constant efforts to protect women and girls. In her Instagram post, she wrote, “Love our police force who are always there to protect us every day. #Mardaani3 trailer is insane… can’t wait to watch the film.” Her remarks have resonated strongly with fans, who see her voice as an important one in highlighting serious social issues beyond the sporting arena.
The third installment of the popular ‘Mardaani’ franchise tackles a disturbing and sensitive subject. The film focuses on the kidnapping of young girls aged 8–9 years from economically weaker sections across different parts of the country, exposing a dark and shocking reality. Rani Mukerji once again appears in the role of a fearless and determined police officer, taking on powerful forces to deliver justice.
Earlier films in the franchise have been equally impactful. ‘Mardaani’ shed light on the grim world of human trafficking, while ‘Mardaani 2’ explored the twisted psychology of a serial rapist who openly challenged the system. With its latest chapter, the franchise continues its tradition of addressing hard-hitting social issues.
The trailer has also received widespread praise from members of the film fraternity. Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan called Rani a “Dynamite,” while Katrina Kaif referred to her as a “Queen.” Kiara Advani highlighted Rani’s enduring screen presence, stating that even after three decades in the industry, she continues to rule the screen with power and grace.
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, ‘Mardaani 3’ is slated for a theatrical release on January 30, and the strong response to its trailer has significantly raised expectations among audiences.
