Dominant performance at ITF J30 tournament, 21-match winning run underlines India’s rising tennis star

India’s emerging tennis sensation Srishti Kiran once again made the nation proud by clinching her fourth consecutive ITF Junior singles title with a commanding performance at the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors J30 tournament held in Huamantla, Mexico, from January 19 to 25. At just 13 years of age, the Karnataka teenager continues to impress on the international junior circuit with her consistency, composure and fighting spirit.

In the singles final, Srishti delivered a confident display to defeat Canada’s Natalie Tsatsalashvili in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, asserting complete control over the match. Her title-winning campaign was highlighted by an outstanding run of 21 singles victories, reflecting her growing dominance at the junior level.

One of the most thrilling matches of her journey came in the semifinals, where Srishti faced a tough challenge from USA’s Natalia Elena Martinez. After losing the second set, the young Indian showed remarkable mental strength and resilience to bounce back and seal a hard-fought victory, 7-5, 1-6, 7-5, booking her place in the final.

Srishti also made her mark in the doubles event, partnering Mexico’s Tamara Herman as the top-seeded pair. The duo advanced to the final and finished runners-up after a closely contested clash against the American pair of Christina Li and Natalia Elena Martinez, going down 2-6, 6-4, 6-10 in the match tie-break, rounding off an impressive all-round week for the Indian teenager.

Earlier, Srishti had also lifted the Girls’ Singles title at another ITF J30 tournament in Huamantla, where she defeated 17-year-old home favourite Tamara Herman of Mexico 6-4, 6-4 in the final to complete a remarkable hat-trick of ITF titles.

In 2025, the Bengaluru-based player claimed her first international junior title at the ITF J30 tournament in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. She followed it up the very next week by winning both the singles and doubles titles, further establishing her credentials as a rising star. In doubles, she partnered with Briana Houlgrave of the Bahamas to defeat the British duo of Jessica Morrison and Ava Moss in the final.

Trained at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA), Srishti Kiran first came into the spotlight in August 2023 when she remained unbeaten while representing India at the ATF Under-12 Girls’ Team Championship finals. With her current form and rapid progress, she is fast emerging as one of India’s most promising young tennis talents.
