The government emphasized that the situation in the country remains fully under control and there is no cause for panic.

The meeting included members of the Cabinet Committee on Security such as Amit Shah, S. Jaishankar, and Nirmala Sitharaman. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri briefed attendees on global developments, particularly the crisis in West Asia.

Opposition representatives included Tariq Anwar and Mukul Wasnik from Congress, Dharmendra Yadav from the Samajwadi Party, and Sasmit Patra from the BJD.

After the meeting, Kiren Rijiju stated that all parties participated constructively, their questions were answered, and they extended full support to the government. He thanked political parties for demonstrating unity on national issues. According to him, the government clarified all doubts and ensured transparency.

Opposition leaders appreciated the initiative, stressing the importance of unity during challenging times. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also urged Parliament to stand united in such situations, a sentiment echoed by opposition members who pledged support for government actions.

Concerns were raised regarding gas and petroleum supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. The government reassured that energy supplies remain stable, with adequate stock available. It confirmed that four ships have already been secured, four more are en route, and additional shipments will follow—indicating no immediate threat to India’s energy supply chain.
