The city beautiful witnessed another spectacular display of aerial prowess on the second day (28th March) of the Suryakiran Air Show at Sukhna Lake. The event drew prominent dignitaries, including Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, along with the Governors of both states.
For the second consecutive day, residents of the Smart City were captivated by the thunderous roar of fighter jets and their breathtaking aerial maneuvers. The highlight of the show was the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, which left spectators spellbound by executing the intricate ‘Diamond-Y’ formation in the sky.
In a special initiative, the Chandigarh Administration ensured participation of young minds by inviting school students to witness the event. A total of 50 students each from four government schools were granted special access to attend the air show.
Due to security arrangements and event protocols, entry to Sukhna Lake had been restricted on Thursday and limited only to ticket holders over the two days. However, the administration has announced that the lake will reopen for the general public after 2:00 PM today (28th March).
