Punjab’s Cabinet Minister for Industries & Commerce, Investment Promotion, Power, and Local Government, Sanjeev Arora, announced that Jogindra Group has unveiled a strategic expansion plan worth ₹1,100 crore. This major investment is expected to significantly accelerate Punjab’s industrial development and its transition towards green energy.
He stated that the move reflects growing confidence among industrial players in Punjab’s progressive policies and business-friendly environment.
Providing details, Arora said the expansion includes an investment of ₹700 crore in the steel sector, primarily through Jogindra Castings and Vardhman Adarsh. Additionally, ₹400 crore will be invested in renewable energy through Jogindra Green India.
Highlighting the scale of impact, Arora said, “Jogindra Group’s turnover is projected to increase from ₹3,000 crore to ₹5,000 crore. At the same time, the workforce will grow from 1,800 to 3,000 employees, creating significant employment opportunities.” He further added that the group’s renewable energy capacity will expand from 37 MW to 120 MW.
Sharing background information, he noted that Jogindra Group, established in 1992, is a leading industrial group in North India with a strong presence in steel manufacturing and a growing footprint in renewable energy. The group is led by CMD Adarsh Garg, along with directors Sanjay Gupta and Nimit Gupta.
Emphasizing regional impact, Arora said Mandi Gobindgarh has historically been the backbone of Punjab’s steel industry. “Today, under the leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Bhagwant Mann, the region is regaining its strength with fresh investments, modernization, and a shift toward cleaner and more efficient production.”
He added that this expansion clearly indicates that Gobindgarh is once again emerging as a growth engine for Punjab’s industrial economy. Punjab is rapidly becoming a preferred destination for investments in both manufacturing and green energy.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the minister said, “The AAP government is continuously focused on creating an industry-friendly ecosystem, ensuring ease of doing business, and promoting environmentally responsible investments across Punjab.”
