The political atmosphere in West Bengal has intensified as Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a sharp address during a public rally in Darjeeling. In his speech, he highlighted the growing demand for change in the state, stating that people are now increasingly looking toward political transformation.
Shah also sent a strong political message regarding issues concerning the Gorkha community. He assured that if the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power in the state, long-pending concerns of Gorkha brothers and sisters will be addressed on a priority basis.
He claimed that within six months of forming the government, concrete steps would be taken to resolve longstanding issues related to the Gorkha community, aiming to bring satisfaction and stability to their lives.
The Union Minister further alleged that both the Indian National Congress and the All India Trinamool Congress have historically neglected the Gorkha community and the Darjeeling region. According to Shah, the BJP would work within a defined timeframe to address these concerns once in power.
Addressing the gathering, he appealed to the people of North Bengal to give the BJP another opportunity to accelerate development and resolution of issues. He said, “People of North Bengal, give BJP a chance to form the government once. Darjeeling has been voting for the lotus symbol for the past three elections, but this time the entire Bengal has decided that it is time to remove ‘Didi’ from power.”
