Oath-taking ceremony held at Local Government Bhawan, Chandigarh

Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Tuesday administered the oath of office and secrecy to Ravi Kumar, who has been newly appointed as a Member of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC). The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Local Government Bhawan in Sector 35, Chandigarh, in the presence of senior officials, dignitaries and family members.

Ravi Kumar formally assumed charge as a Member of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission after taking the oath. Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora administered the oath and extended his best wishes to the newly appointed Member, expressing confidence that Ravi Kumar would discharge his responsibilities with commitment and integrity.

Speaking after the ceremony, Ravi Kumar said that he would perform the duties of his office to the best of his ability, knowledge and faith. He assured that he would work with utmost dedication, honesty and faithfulness while upholding the responsibilities entrusted to him under the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission. He also expressed gratitude to the state government for placing trust in him and giving him the opportunity to serve in an important regulatory role.

The Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission plays a key role in regulating the power sector in the state, including tariff determination, licensing, and ensuring reliable and affordable electricity supply to consumers. The appointment of a new Member is expected to further strengthen the functioning of the commission and support effective decision-making in the power sector.

Viswajeet Khanna, Chairperson of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission, was present during the oath-taking ceremony. Basant Garg, IAS, Secretary, Power, along with other senior officials and dignitaries, also attended the event. Family members of Ravi Kumar were present on the occasion, making the ceremony a memorable moment for the newly appointed Member.

Officials stated that with his experience and understanding of administrative and regulatory matters, Ravi Kumar is expected to contribute positively to the work of the commission. The state government reiterated its commitment to strengthening regulatory institutions to ensure transparency, efficiency and consumer welfare in the power sector.

The ceremony concluded with congratulations and greetings being extended to Ravi Kumar by those present.
