Chandigarh Administration Reshuffles 14 Senior Officers to Boost Governance Efficiency

The Chandigarh Administration carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle on Tuesday(14 April) to enhance the efficiency of administrative functioning across the Tricity. A transfer and posting list of 14 senior officers was issued by Chief Secretary H. Rajesh Prasad, assigning new responsibilities to several officials, including two recently inducted officers.

Newly inducted PCS officer Avikesh Gupta has been given multiple key roles, including Registering and Licensing Authority, Director Transport, Joint Secretary Transport, Joint Secretary Estate, Director IT, Joint Secretary Urban Planning, and Joint Secretary Housing.

PCS officer Nitish Singla will serve as Director School Education, Regional Employment Officer, Joint Secretary Employment, Joint Secretary Labour, Project Director EduCity, Secretary State Transport Authority, Director Science and Technology, and CEO of CREST.

PCS officer Balbir Raj Singh has been appointed as Joint Inspector General of Prisons, Superintendent of Model Jail, and Joint Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation.

HCS officer Radhika Singh has been assigned significant responsibilities, including Director Higher Education, Director Social Welfare, Managing Director of Chandigarh SC/BC and Minority Corporation, Managing Director of Child and Women Development Corporation, and Secretary of the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

PCS officer Palika Arora has been appointed Director Technical Education, Controller Printing and Stationery, Joint Secretary Cooperation, Joint Registrar Cooperative Societies, and Director Skill Development.

DANICS officer Akhil Kumar has been given charge as Additional Secretary Establishment, Additional Secretary House Allotment Committee, and Director & Additional Secretary of Food & Supplies and Legal Metrology.

DANICS officer Amit Kumar will handle responsibilities as Additional Secretary Coordination, overseeing Home and Jails, Environment and Forests, Personnel, and Technical Education.

HCS officer Dr. Inderjit has been appointed Joint Director Administration at GMCH, Joint Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, and Additional CEO of Chandigarh Smart City Limited.

HCS officer Pradyuman Singh has been appointed Additional Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Director Industries, General Manager District Industries Centre, Joint Secretary Industries, Secretary RERA, and Assistant Estate Officer-3.

PCS officer Saurabh Kumar Arora has been assigned as Director Sports, Joint Secretary Excise and Taxation, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Director AYUSH, Project Director Beant Singh Memorial, and Secretary Chandigarh Housing Board.

DANICS officer Naveen will serve as Director Agriculture, Agriculture Census Commissioner, Director Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Director Tourism, Director Cultural Affairs, and Chief General Manager of CITCO.

DANICS officer Khushpreet Kaur has been appointed Assistant Estate Officer-2, SDM Central, Land Acquisition Officer, and Administrator of the Market Committee.

DC F&A Rajeev Tiwari has been given multiple responsibilities, including Director Public Relations, Member Secretary Right to Service Commission, Nodal Officer of State Agricultural Marketing Board, Assistant Secretary, Assistant Agriculture Census Officer, and Director Hospitality.

Lastly, PCS officer Pavitra Singh has been appointed SDM East and Assistant Estate Officer-1.

The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening governance and ensuring better coordination among departments in Chandigarh.
