In the Sia murder case involving a college student in Gopalpur, the accused had to be admitted to a hospital after his health deteriorated during police remand. DSP Sanjeev Gautam confirmed that the accused is currently undergoing treatment and his mental condition will also be evaluated.
Sia was cremated on Tuesday in her ancestral village under tight police security. Her cousin Divyansh performed the last rites. The family is in deep mourning, and Sia is survived by her three sisters.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused had been carrying a sharp weapon (darati) with him for a long time. The police have recovered the weapon used in the crime. According to sources, a woman witnessed the incident, and her testimony is considered crucial to the case. After the incident, when locals surrounded the accused, he allegedly attacked some youngsters with the same weapon. A video of the incident has also surfaced.
