Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday heard 17 cases during a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee in Gurugram. Of these, 14 cases were resolved on the spot, while three were kept pending and reports were sought from the concerned officials.
Chief Minister directed officials to take necessary action on the pending cases and submit their reports at the earliest.
The ongoing 16-day strike by sanitation workers in Gurugram also came up during the meeting. Saini said the government would work to resolve the workers’ issues soon to ensure that residents do not face inconvenience. He stressed that maintaining a proper sanitation system in the city remains a priority for the government.
The strike has affected garbage collection and cleanliness across Gurugram, with heaps of waste reportedly accumulating along roadsides and causing problems for local residents.
Meanwhile, reacting to the Congress’ warning of a protest over the demand to regularise contractual employees, Saini targeted former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, saying that Hooda appeared to have forgotten his own tenure.
Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s employment initiatives through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN), saying the state government was continuously working to create employment opportunities for young people.
