Conference and demonstration held for release of youth and farmers lodged in Delhi jails

NAWANSHEHER: On the call of Samyukta Kisan Morcha, Delhi, farmers' organizations of the area held here a conference and later protest in the town demanding the release of farmers, youth, labourers' pleaders, social activists etc lodged in Delhi jails and cancellation of police cases and closure of notices being sent by government agencies to persons associated with the ongoing farmers' agitation.  The conference was held at Dussehra Ground.
Addressing the gathering speakers who among others included Harminder Singh Fauji of Doaba Kisan Union, Gurbakhsh Kaur Sangha, state president of Istri Jagriti Manch, Bhupinder Singh of Kirti Kisan Union, Kulwinder Wurraich of IFTU, said that the Modi government has resorted to oppression and injustice to end the peasants' struggle and the Delhi Police is creating an atmosphere of terror by laying siege to the Kisan Morchas on Delhi borders. More than 200 farmers have died in this struggle so far but Modi government remained unmoved, they said. They said that instead of repealing the three agriculture laws, the BJP government is engaged in spreading false and misleading propaganda against the farmers' leaders, and their struggle through the BJP's IT cell. "But in the end, the government will have to kneel before the farmers' struggle and withdraw the anti-farmer agriculture laws," said the farm leaders.  The conference was also addressed by Makhan Singh Bhanmajara, Avtar Singh Katt, Harbans Singh Pelli, Surinder Singh Mahrampur.
 After the conference, a demonstration was held in the city and a memorandum was sent to the President of India through Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.
