HSVP to issue land allotment letter by December 16; project expedited due to Minister Vij’s efforts

Haryana’s Labour Minister Anil Vij today said the establishment of a state-of-the-art 100-bedded ESIC Hospital in Ambala Cantonment is now fully set in motion. He said this hospital will serve as a lifeline for insured workers and their dependent families, ensuring advanced and accessible healthcare services close to their homes.
Providing details, Vij said that the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has been directed to issue the formal land allotment letter (offer letter) with the finalized cost by December 16, 2025, for the proposed site located in Sector-33 (Part-1), Ambala Cantt. Once issued, ESIC will complete the payment process and start construction at the earliest.
The Minister stated that thousands of workers are employed in the industrial zone adjoining Sector-33 and Saha area. All insured workers and their dependents will receive direct health benefits from this hospital. He called the project a major achievement for Ambala Cantonment and neighbouring regions. He also mentioned that he has personally been coordinating closely with the Central Government and concerned departments to move the project forward. He added that the hospital marks an important milestone toward delivering better, timely and patient-centric healthcare services for the insured community of Ambala.
Advanced Medical Facilities to Be Provided
Vij informed that the hospital will be equipped with major medical departments and emergency services, including Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, 24×7 Emergency & Trauma Care, ICU services, Advanced diagnostic and pathology labs and Outpatient, inpatient, and daycare care facilities. He said that the goal is to make sure insured individuals receive proper treatment without delay and without financial burden.
“No Worker Should Suffer for Lack of Medical Care”
The Minister said, “My priority has always been that the people of Ambala Cantonment do not face hardships due to lack of medical facilities. No worker should wander helplessly in search of treatment. This hospital will bring relief to the working class as well as the general public.”
Vij also explained that the matter had recently been taken up during a high-level meeting chaired by the Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India, at the Chief Secretary's office, where pending projects listed on the PMG (Project Monitoring Group) portal were reviewed. The ESIC hospital project was prioritized during the meeting, demonstrating the strong commitment of both Central and State Governments to strengthening healthcare infrastructure.
