Uttar Pradesh Dominators buy her for ₹52 lakh at the auction, creating a new record in league history
Antim Panghal, an emerging star wrestler from Hisar district of Haryana, has created history at the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) auction. A two-time World Wrestling Championships medalist, Antim Panghal was picked up by the Uttar Pradesh Dominators with a record bid of ₹52 lakh. With this, she has become the most expensive Indian female wrestler in the history of the Pro Wrestling League. This achievement has brought pride not only to Haryana but also to wrestling fans across the country.
Antim Panghal hails from Bhagana village in Hisar. She was born into a simple farming family. Her father, Ram Niwas Panghal, and mother, Krishna Kumari, have five children, with Antim being the second youngest among them. After four daughters, her father named her “Antim.” Her elder sisters are Sarita, Meenu, and Nisha, while her brother Arpit, born two years after her, is the youngest member of the family.
Showing an interest in wrestling at a very young age, Antim pursued her dreams despite challenging circumstances. Through hard work, discipline, and consistent training, she carved a strong identity for herself at both national and international levels. By winning medals twice at the World Wrestling Championships, she brought glory to India and established herself among the country’s top female wrestlers.
After the auction, her father Ram Niwas Panghal expressed immense pride in his daughter’s achievement. He said it was a moment of great happiness for the family that Antim’s talent has been recognized on such a big platform. He added that her success would inspire girls from the village and the region to move forward and chase their dreams.
Antim Panghal, meanwhile, said that she is eagerly waiting for the Pro Wrestling League to begin. She mentioned that competing against international-level wrestlers would be a major challenge for her. In particular, she is very excited about the possibility of facing Japan’s legendary wrestler Yui Susaki. Antim stated that she will enter the league with full preparation and give her best performance to live up to her team’s expectations.
