Historic First: Aerial thrill captivates skies of Hisar

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, while inspiring the youth, said that with hard work, dedication and discipline, any dream can be achieved. He described the air show as a source of inspiration for youth and expressed confidence that today’s youth will become the pride of the Indian Armed Forces and bring glory to the nation.

The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering at the air show held today at the Maharaja Agrasen Airport Complex in Hisar, organized jointly by the GOC Dot Division and the Hisar District Administration. The Indian Air Force’s prestigious Suryakiran Aerobatic Team enthralled the audience with a series of breathtaking stunts.

Addressing officers, soldiers and civilians, the Chief Minister said that the Indian Air Force is a vital part of the nation’s security shield. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi, the strength of the Air Force has been significantly enhanced with the induction of modern fighter aircraft such as the Rafale. He added that Indian pilots, flying Rafale, Sukhoi, and Tejas fighter jets, are fully capable of defeating the enemy. The Chief Minister expressed pride that the Indian Air Force demonstrated its valor and strength during Operation Sandur, earning global recognition.

The Chief Minister further said that the air show conveyed a strong message of discipline, teamwork and unwavering patriotism. Each feat of the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team reflected the spirit of their motto, “Sadaiv Sarvottam” (Always Excellence). He said that the massive turnout at the event reflects the deep respect citizens have for the Armed Forces.

On this occasion, Nayab Singh also highlighted the state government’s welfare initiatives for the families of freedom fighters and martyrs. He informed that the pension for freedom fighters and their widows has been increased to Rs 40,000 per month, while the ex-gratia amount for families of war martyrs has been enhanced to Rs 1 crore. In addition, the Haryana government has decided to provide 10 percent reservation to Agniveers in jobs.

Hisar Deputy Commissioner Anish Yadav said that this was the first time such an air show was organized in Haryana. He said its objective was to inspire the youth to dream of joining the Indian Air Force and becoming pilots. The Suryakiran pilots performed aerobatics in multiple formations, flying at speeds ranging from 150 kmph to 650 kmph, and also paid tribute to Hisar’s martyr, Wing Commander Sahil Gandhi, who laid down his life in 2019.

A large number of people from Hisar and surrounding districts, along with officers and soldiers from the Army Cantonment, their families, and students from Army Public School and the NCC, witnessed the show.
