Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab’s chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal visited Ghanshyampura village in Amritsar on Tuesday to meet the family of Makhan Singh, who was shot dead by miscreants on Monday. Expressing deep grief over the tragic incident, Dhaliwal conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that the Punjab government stands firmly with them in this difficult hour. He also vowed that strict and immediate action would be taken against those responsible for the crime.
Dhaliwal described the murder of an innocent man by anti-social elements as extremely unfortunate and worrisome. He asserted that the government would not tolerate any form of violence and reiterated the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government to ensure the swift arrest of the accused and deliver justice to the victim’s family.
During his meeting with the family, Dhaliwal assured them that the government would provide every possible form of assistance—whether financial support, security, or any other help required. He emphasized that maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of every citizen is the top priority of the Punjab government.
Dhaliwal further stated that no culprit, regardless of their influence or connections, would be spared. He reiterated that the law is equal for all, and in this case too, the perpetrators would face the strictest punishment. He added that the government is treating this case with utmost seriousness and will not tolerate any negligence during the investigation.
He also said that the government would send a strong message to those who attempt to disturb Punjab’s peace, harmony, and law and order. Dhaliwal urged the local residents to trust the legal process and cooperate with the authorities during the investigation.
After visiting the crime scene, Dhaliwal held discussions with senior officials and directed them to ensure that the investigation proceeds without delay. He said that delivering justice to the victim’s family is both a moral and constitutional responsibility of the government, and it will be fulfilled on priority.
Before leaving, Dhaliwal once again assured the family that the government would not abandon them and would ensure that the culprits are arrested soon and brought before them. He said that justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done, and the case will remain under the direct monitoring of the government.
