Jammu & Kashmir Para Team Captain, Who Has Played with Sachin Tendulkar, Motivates Young Players During Trials
The para cricket team trials held in Ludhiana, Punjab, became truly inspiring when renowned Indian para cricketer Aamir Hussain Lone arrived to motivate the aspiring players. As new para cricketers gathered to showcase their talent, Aamir’s presence and words of encouragement infused fresh confidence and determination among them.
Aamir Hussain Lone openly spoke about his life journey and struggles, sharing that he does not have both hands, yet he never allowed this challenge to limit his dreams. He told the young players that despite his physical disability, he bats and bowls with complete rhythm, confidence, and control. While narrating his journey, Aamir became emotional and emphasized the importance of mental strength in both sports and life.
Using cricket as a metaphor for life, Aamir said, “An over has six balls. Even if five balls turn out to be dot balls, the sixth ball can be hit for a six to change the entire game. Similarly, in life, even if you face repeated failures, one strong effort can change everything.” He urged para cricketers not to feel discouraged by their disability but instead develop the courage to hit that “last-ball six” in life.
Aamir Hussain Lone was selected for the para cricket team in 2013 while he was pursuing his graduation. Following his selection, he chose to leave his studies to focus completely on cricket. However, he has now resumed his education and is currently completing his graduation from Aryans Group of Colleges in Chandigarh, proving that learning and growth never stop.
Hailing from Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir, Aamir is currently the captain of the Jammu & Kashmir Para Cricket Team. Beyond his achievements on the field, he is also dedicated to nurturing future talent. With the support of the Adani Foundation, he runs a para cricket academy in Jammu and Kashmir, where he trains and mentors young persons with disabilities, helping them turn their passion for cricket into a profession.
Aamir Hussain Lone also enjoys a strong presence on social media, with over 82,000 followers on Facebook and around 1.10 lakh followers on Instagram. His visit to Ludhiana not only encouraged young para cricketers but also reinforced the belief that determination and self-confidence can overcome any limitation.
