Call for a Life Guided by the Teachings of the First Sikh Guru

Punjab Cabinet Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema, Aman Arora, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Sanjeev Arora, Dr. Balbir Singh, Lal Chand Kataruchak, Laljit Singh Bhullar, Harjot Singh Bains, Harbhajan Singh, Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Dr. Ravjot Singh, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Hardeep Singh Mundian, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, and Mohinder Bhagat extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the Punjab on the auspicious occasion of the Prakash Purab of the founder of Sikhism, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
In a joint statement issued here, the Ministers said that the sacred occasion, falling on November 5, 2025, reminds everyone of the eternal and universal teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, which are based on the core principles of ‘Naam Japo’, ‘Kirat Karo’, and ‘Vand Chakko’.
They appealed to the people to follow the path shown by the first Sikh Guru and imbibe his message of one God, equality for all, selfless service, and communal harmony in their lives. The Ministers noted that Guru Ji's philosophy of 'Sarbat Da Bhala' (welfare for all) is more relevant today than ever before.
On this occasion, the Ministers prayed for the prosperity, peace, and good health of all the citizens, and especially for the people of Punjab. They expressed hope that the holy day would inspire everyone to work towards building a society free from discrimination and filled with brotherhood.
The Ministers also highlighted the significance of 'Langar' and 'Sewa' (selfless service) as cornerstones of Sikhism established by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, urging people to contribute towards community welfare and help the underprivileged.
