Harpal Singh Cheema and Lal Chand Kataruchak urge devotees to follow Guru Ravidas Ji’s path of equality and universal brotherhood

In a grand gesture marking the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, Punjab Cabinet Ministers Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema and Lal Chand Kataruchak on Wednesday flagged off a special train carrying devotees to Varanasi from the city railway station. The event witnessed the participation of Lok Sabha MP Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar, former Minister Balkar Singh, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh, and Pawan Kumar Tinu, Chairman of the Punjab State Cooperative Agricultural Development Bank, who joined the pilgrims with devotion.

Addressing the gathering, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, after seeking blessings from Sant Niranjan Dass Ji of Dera Ballan, highlighted the significance of the 650th Parkash Purab celebrations. “The Punjab Government, led by CM Mann, will observe the 650th Parkash Purab on a grand scale with devotion and reverence. Statewide programmes focusing on the life, teachings, and travels of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji have been planned, and a comprehensive roadmap has been finalized by the Cabinet Sub Committee,” he said.

CM  Cheema also emphasized concrete steps taken by the government to honor the saint’s legacy. “A sale deed has been signed for establishing a dedicated centre for extensive research and study of the sacred bani of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. Guru Ji’s timeless message of equality and welfare of humanity continues to guide society towards harmony and justice,” he added.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak addressed the devotees, reaffirming the government’s commitment to shaping a society rooted in the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. “The Bhagwant Mann Government has prepared a detailed plan to celebrate the 650th Parkash Purab on a historic scale. Guru Ji envisioned a society free from discrimination and hardship, and by following his teachings, we aim to ensure the welfare of all sections of society,” he said, extending greetings to the devotees.

The programme highlighted the spirit of inclusivity and devotion, encouraging citizens to walk the path of universal brotherhood, social justice, and harmony as envisioned by Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
