Former Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife, Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, has officially announced the formation of her own political party. Late Monday night (6 April), she revealed the development through a post on her X (formerly Twitter) account, naming the new outfit the Bhartiya Rashtrawadi Party.

Speculation had been rife that she might join the Bharatiya Janata Party after parting ways with the Indian National Congress. However, her announcement has put those rumors to rest. The launch of the new party has stirred political circles, with many leaders and analysts viewing it as a strategic move by the Sidhu family ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.

Interestingly, Navjot Singh Sidhu was not seen alongside her during the announcement, fueling further speculation in political corridors.

Party’s Vision and Objectives

Through her social media post, Dr. Sidhu stated that the long-awaited announcement has finally been made after a deep assessment of the current political system and leadership. She emphasized her intent to offer a new national-level alternative.

She envisioned a Punjab rooted in love, brotherhood, justice, and freedom where people can pursue their goals without external interference. According to her, the party will function as a true “people’s government,” operating for the people and by the people. She also highlighted that the party would be guided by spiritual values to promote peace and balance in society.
