The colourful wooden flowers made from the wood and palm tree bark have captured the attention of tourists at the International Gita Mahotsav, leaving behind roses, marigold, jasmine and other traditional flowers. These long-lasting flowers made from wood and tree bark were a centre of attention at the Brahma Sarovar at only Rs.20 to Rs.200.
Pawan Kumar, a craftsman from Madhya Pradesh who has been bringing paper flowers to the Mahotsav for several years, shared his thoughts at stall number 359, along with his wife Rajkumari, and children Mohit, Rohit, and Muskaan. He expressed that the colourful wooden flowers are playing a significant role in brightening up the atmosphere at Brahma Sarovar. The prices of these colourful flower bouquets are kept affordable, ranging from just Rs.10 to Rs. 200 only. The demand for these wooden flowers has been increasing every day at the Mahotsav.
He further mentioned that the government’s loan schemes have played a key role in reaching their flowers to special guests and helping them grow economically.
