The IIAS celebrated a significant transition in leadership with a heartfelt farewell for former Director Prof. Nageshwar Rao and a warm welcome for incoming Director Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, who is also serving as the Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Punjab, Bhatinda. The event was held at the IIAS Pool Theatre and was attended by all fellows and employees of the Institute.
Prof. Nageshwar Rao, who has served as Director of IIAS with distinction, was honored for his remarkable contributions to the institute. His tenure was marked by significant academic achievements and the strengthening of IIAS's position as a premier research institute. In his farewell address, Prof. Rao expressed his gratitude to the institute’s staff and fellows for their unwavering support and dedication.
The event was graced by the virtual presence of Prof. Shashi Prabhakumar, Chairperson of IIAS, and Prof. Shailendra Raj Mehta, Vice-Chairman of IIAS, who addressed the gathering and highlighted Prof. Rao's contributions and the institute's progress under his leadership. Prof. Prabhakumar lauded Prof. Rao's visionary leadership and tireless efforts in fostering a culture of academic excellence.
