Chandigarh Chapter, PHDCCI, in association with the Industries Department, Chandigarh Administration, organized an Awareness Session on the theme Strengthening MSME Competitiveness through Compliance, Digital Expansion & Sustainability under the Raising & Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme Series on at PHD House, Sector 31, Chandigarh.

The session focused on strengthening the MSME ecosystem by creating awareness and offering guidance on capacity building, enhanced competitiveness, and sustainable growth.

Rajneesh Bansal, Chair, Chandigarh Chapter, PHDCCI, emphasized the significance of the RAMP Programme in empowering MSMEs. He highlighted how the initiative enables industries to leverage government schemes effectively, adopt emerging technologies, and move towards sustainable and scalable growth.

Bharti Sood, Senior Regional Director, PHDCCI talked about the themes for today which rightly emphasise compliance, digital expansion, and sustainability as key drivers for enhancing MSME competitiveness. She also reiterated PHDCCIs commitment to supporting MSMEs through policy advocacy, knowledge sharing, and capacity-building initiatives to help them grow in a structured, resilient, and globally competitive manner.

Yukta Bagdi, Product Manager – Supply Chain & Marketplace Systems (Noon, ex-Blinkit), underscored the importance of expanding MSME reach through e-commerce under the RAMP Programme and explained the step-by-step registration process on major e-commerce platforms , highlighting how digital onboarding enables MSMEs to access wider markets.

CS Vishal Arora explained the importance of understanding mandatory legal and regulatory compliances for MSMEs in U.T. Chandigarh. He highlighted key requirements such as timely statutory filings, proper documentation, and adherence to labour, tax, and corporate laws.

Rahul Mittal, Senior Manager, ICICI Lombard, explained the importance of strengthening MSMEs through effective risk mitigation and insurance solutions and highlighted how appropriate insurance coverage safeguards businesses against unforeseen losses, operational disruptions, and financial risks.

Gurdarshan Aggarwal, Resident Director, PHDCCI , highlighted the importance of energy efficiency and renewable integration for sustainable MSMEs and emphasized that adopting solar and energy-efficient technologies can significantly reduce operational costs and improve long-term profitability

Proposing the Vote of Thanks, Lokesh Jain, Convener, Regional MSME Committee, PHDCCI, expressed gratitude to all speakers, delegates, and the Industries Department, Chandigarh Administration, for their active participation and support and also reiterated PHDCCI’s continuous efforts towards MSME development and capacity building.
