Tubewell electricity bill payments deferred until December 2025, 7.10 lakh farmers to benefit
Crop loan recovery postponed, new Rabi loans to be available, relief for 3 lakh farmers

Providing major relief to farmers affected by recent heavy rains and flood situation, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced the deferment of electricity bill payments for tubewell connections in the state until December 2025. He said that bills that were due up to July 2025 can now be paid from January 2026 without any additional charges, benefiting 7.10 lakh farmers with immediate financial relief.
The Chief Minister made these and other announcements while addressing a press conference here today. Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, SEWA Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi, and Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma were also present on the occasion.
Announcing relief on crop loans, Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that in villages where more than 50 percent of crops have been damaged, and where indebted farmers have suffered crop losses of 33 percent or more, the recovery of Kharif season crop loans taken from cooperative societies has been deferred. Such farmers will also be provided fresh crop loans for the upcoming Rabi season. This decision will benefit nearly 3 lakh farmers.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister transferred a total of Rs 4,72,06,000 directly into the bank accounts of 2,386 affected families. This includes Rs 4,67,75,000 for damage to 2,371 houses, Rs 4.21 lakh for the loss of 13 animals, and Rs 10,000 for damage to goods in two houses. He said that the recent heavy rains and flood situation had severely impacted many districts of Haryana, causing losses to crops, livestock, and property. The government, he stressed, stands firmly with every affected family.
The Chief Minister further informed that the state government had kept the e-Kshatipurti portal open until September 15 for farmers to register their losses. A total of 5.37 lakh farmers from 6,397 villages registered over 31 lakh acres of crop land on the portal. Verification of claims is underway, and in areas where crops have been damaged due to flooding, compensation of up to Rs 15,000 per acre will be provided soon.
3.58 lakh metric tons of paddy procured, Rs109 Crore transferred to farmers’ accounts
The Chief Minister said that by September 30, the state had received 5 lakh metric tons of paddy, out of which 3.58 lakh metric tons had already been procured. So far, Rs 109 crore has been directly transferred into the accounts of farmers.
Millet MSP fixed at Rs 2,775 per quintal, Government to cover any shortfall
Similarly, 187.30 metric tons of millet have been procured by state agencies, while traders have purchased 4,970 metric tons. It will be ensured that farmers will receive an MSP of Rs 2,775 per quintal. The government will bridge any shortfall between the MSP and the price at which millet is procured by state agencies. In cases where a farmer’s crop is damaged and traders purchase it at a lower price, the government will ensure that the farmer is compensated for the price difference as per the bhavantar rate fixed for that day, he added.
1.71 lakh women register on ‘Lado Laxmi App’ in six days; First installment to be credited on November 1
The Chief Minister said that in the six days since launch of Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana on September 25, the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, a total of 1,71,946 women have registered on the ‘Lado Laxmi App’. He urged all eligible women to complete their registration promptly so that the first installment can be transferred to their bank accounts on November 1. Congress playing politics in the name of women’s welfare- CM
Taking a dig at the opposition, the Chief Minister said that Congress speaks about women’s welfare only for political gains, while in reality, their state governments provide no tangible benefits to women. He added that the Haryana government, as promised in its Sankalp Patra, has allocated Rs 5,000 crore in the first budget to provide Rs 2,100 per month to women, and that this scheme will now start reaching beneficiaries from November 1.
